Ground screw, also known as helical piers, anchors, piles or screw piles, are deep foundation solutions used to secure new or repair existing foundations. Due to their design and ease to install, they are most commonly used whenever soil conditions prevent standard foundation solutions. Instead of requiring large excavation work, they thread into the ground. This minimizes installation time, requires little soil disturbance, and most importantly transfers the weight of the structure to load bearing soil.

What is a screw pile? A screw pile is a large metal screw with one or more threads (helical blades), which is firmly screwed into the ground and anchored below the frost line, eliminating ground movement caused by the annual freeze-thaw cycle and variations in terrain. The screw piles are designed to remain stable and withstand the weather.
Screw piles, sometimes referred to as screw-piles, screw piers, screw anchors, screw foundations, helical piles, helical piers, or helical anchors are a steel screw-in piling and ground anchoring system used for building deep foundations. Screw piles are typically manufactured from high-strength steel using varying sizes of tubular hollow sections for the pile or anchors shaft.
Ground screws are quick and easy to install for small sign applications and a much more economical option for large commercial-scale projects such as street and highway lights, signs and large communication towers. Faster installation, immediate construction and no concrete caissons can save thousands of dollars on a project.
